Novodonna

I’ve set out on a journey of evolution. I think whether I wanted to embark on this journey or not, has been requisite, nonetheless. So here I am, uncomfortably unlearning behaviours that have been contrary to my growth – that, and confronting all the other things that I do not “like” about myself. And in this time of evolution, I’ve learnt that the things we don’t like about ourselves show up in our everyday lives; in the people we love (or don’t), in common scenarios, signs and wonders. Yes, there is wonder within this journey, believe it or not – a lot of it too. Forbes magazine reported ‘7 Things Evolved Women Do Differently’ and one of the points that stood out to me was that “She operates from a point of objectivity”…furthermore: “A highly evolved woman doesn’t believe everything she thinks”. I thought that was powerful and profound.

Nurturing your insecurities and still operating within your power can sometimes leave the door open to imposter syndrome. I often question whether the two can co-exist being human and all. This is one thing I grapple with and has prevented me from believing my thoughts of wonder about myself. Do you believe you’re wonderful? Sometimes. Have you believed someone else to be wonderful? Absolutely. Ironically, wonder is also denoted as ‘feeling doubt’. Which will you choose?

The up-side of evolving is welcoming the improvement of your self-esteem, which enables an inevitable increase in self-worth and in turn unearths your desire to be truly authentic in all that you are, do, say and think. It’s being utterly honest with yourself. And liking yourself in real life. It doesn’t happen overnight, it may not happen in your 20s, 30s or even 40s, but it does happen when you decide to gracefully break down all the things you’ve allowed to betray you, things like false feminism, distorted body image, imposter syndrome, unrealistic ideals of relationships/people (including friendships), ego, ridiculous timelines…you get where I’m going with this. Evolving, however, does not require a saccharine-sweet positive vibe because that can be annoying and unrealistic (I know I’m not the only one who feels this way), but just being real about how you feel, and empowered in the knowledge that emotions are temporary and pass by without requiring any action a lot of the time.

I am learning what to take personally and to pray for discernment and wisdom in my evolution, separating my flesh from my human experience, because after all, we’re spirit beings having a human experience and thus the premise on which response trumps reaction.

Amidst the rigmarole of evolving, my conviction has led me to make a few changes within and without. I’ve let the wonder of change flow into brand NovoDonna and so, you will notice the changes I’ve made. I welcome you onto the journey with me, not for me but for you.
